It seems as though it's not as popular as when I was a kid in the 80's

It isn't as popular when I was kid in the 70's either...but can you blame them, with all the bad stuff in the world....Maybe most kids today go the malls or something.......ahhhhhhh, they dont know what their missing.

Not at all. It's not as safe anymore, and less people are willing to give out candy. Most kids these days tend to go to malls and things like that, locally sponsered events, than just randomly door to door. At least, that's what I've noticed in my area. Also, because of the way neighborhoods are these days, around here, some streets get a good amount of kids, and some streets get only one or two. I got about 4 kids total, and my friend lives only about 20 minutes away, and literally had almost 70 kids trick or treat at her house!!! It's sad that it's becoming less popular, I always loved it as a kid.

I wasn't around in the 80s, but I know what you mean. Tonight there were barely any trick-or-treaters.

I was thinking the same thing. We left our front gate open, the lights on, and Jack-o-lanterns lit, but not ONE Trick or Treat-er.
I remember when there used to be tons of us children out there in the 80s. It was fun, kind of like a competition with the others.

same thing happened at my house tonight hardly no trick or treaters I think its going to be phased out pretty soon
