I don't exactly agree with Hillary (1st answer). I wear prescription contacts. If you want colored contacts that only change the color of your eyes you should just go to any reputable place of business. Lenscrafters or your own eye doctor would be just fine. As long as you follow the doctor's instructions you will be fine. The doctor will have you put the colored contacts on & then look at your eyes through their microscope to make sure the contacts fit properly. You do not want them so tight on your eyes that they don't move a little when you blink (some people have astigmatisms, which means your eye is not perfectly round, there are certain contacts for that, another reason to get them from a doctor.). Also, sleeping in contacts is not a good idea, because your eyes need oxygen. I have seen news stories where people buy colored contacts on the "streets". That would be a bad idea b/c those people are not professionals. As long as you go through an eye doctor & follow the proper care & cleaning instructions there is no danger in wearing them. Give it a try, they can be a fun accessory.

There could be a big percentage that you could get an eye infection or loss of seeing. Don't wast e your money on these contacts because all they are going to do is mess up your eyes. If you are ever to get any kind of contacts, the best way to go is the prescription way out.

I used to wear colored contacts but it wasn't such a great experience for me. I'm not sure if it will damage your eyes, but it sure took away from my vision, especially at night time. Also after a couple of hourse my eyes would get all watery and overall it felt very uncomfortable. Mind you i got these from my doctor. I wore them for only a few month and threw them away as it was too much pain in the ... for me!
Hope this helps.

If you go to a doctor and tell them you want it for fashion and not prescription. They can do that for you and no it does not mess up your eyes. If you get off the street, yes it will mess up your eyes. The doctor makes it fit for your eye

Just make sure to wash your hands thoroughly and wash your contacts with solution...contact lenses can put you at increased risk for conjuncitivitis, and you wouldn't want to have that!
