I was driving in the car on 2/26/02. I got a cramp. It was different though. Not like the normal cramping that everyone has during pregnancy. I told my husband I was in labor. I just knew. I went to the bathroom that night & I guess my mucus plug came out cuz there was something mucusy on my tp after I went to the bathroom. (I'll stop there with those details.) We went home that night & the next morning my water broke as I was eating breakfast. I went to the hospital. I didn't dialate on my own for 24 hours so the gave me pitosin (spell check) & he was born 5 hours later.

1. I was 41 weeks exactly when I gave birth
2. I had contractions for 4 weeks before giving birth, even went to the hospital once because it was my first, and I had no idea if it was the real thing or not- was sent home, they said real contractions, just not hard enough to put me in active labor. My contractions then were 2-5 min. apart.
3. I was supposed to be induced at 9:30am on a Friday, well at 1:30am my water broke- a little trickle- thought it was pee at first. So I went pee, and was done, and stood up, and more trickles... so then I knew I should go soon because if you don't, infection will occur. About a half an hour later, I got really hard contractions- to the point I couldn't talk, walk, or stand even... did all I could just to breathe through it...... exactly what my instructor told me would happen when you knew you were in labor and time to get to the hospital. So we went, and 19hrs of labor and a c-section, I finally had my son! Very painful because my epidural wore off the last 4 hrs, even the spinal epidural for the c-section didn't work, so they had to put me under. I also had a 9lb 10oz baby which they didn't have a clue he'd be that big lol.
Goodluck, and know when you can't walk, talk, or do anything, that's when you should get to the hospital-unless your water breaks- that's another reason to go.

With my first I went into labor the day before my due date. I was just having contractions
With my 2nd my water broke a week after my due date
With my third I was induce 10 days after my due date.
My first was the only one I had any early signs of labor, and that was just cramping. I didn't get any signs really that labor was begining. I know you are probably getting antsy about having the baby since you only have 6 weeks left. Just relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy, everything will happen in time.

I was 10 days early with my daughter. I did not expect it. I left work on Sat and Mon night I was in labor. I spent the whole day at the mall with a friend of mine and took her to an ultrasound. We were out from like 11am to 9pm. I got home and went straight to bed. I started feeling sick. I called my mom cause I thought I was really gassy or something. I sat in the bath to alleviate some cramping, but honestly thought it was gas. In time it became cramps in bottom. I tried to time it but couldn't the pain was all over the map. When at went to the hospital I thought for sure they were going to send me home. That was at midnight and at 12:50 the next afternoon I had a beautiful baby girl. In the week before giving birth I was working full time on my feet 8 hours a day. At times when I was walking I would get cramps down my inner thighs. I would have to pause for a second then keep walking.

I went into labor on a Sunday morning around 7am, went to the bathroom and I was bleeding a little bit, more pink than red. I felt fine, around 9am i started getting contractions, they were irregular and couldnt be timed right. I finally gave in to my family when they told me I really should go. Got to the Hospital at 1030am and went straight to triage and they checked me at about 11am and I was 4-5 centimeters and I was admitted. By 1230pm they broke my water and my Son was born at 236pm, no time for drugs, he came fast. I was 3 weeks early. He was very healthy nonetheless. my Dr says three warning signs, water breaks, blood or contractions are 5 mintues apart, good luck!

With my first I went into labor on my due date (40 wks)
The labor signs started the night before and I didn't go to the hospital until the next after noon. I didn't have her until 2:08 am the night I went into the hospital.
My early signs of labor were cramping and contractions

With my 1st, I was 35 weeks along. I was very nervous about it because I only heard stories, I hadn't experienced it yet myself. I was not expecting it because I was early, but when I did go into labor this is what happened:
I woke up in the morning and I felt fine. Nothing was different. I went to the bathroom (urinated) and when I wiped, there was this big nasty blob that sort-of resembled snot. (i know pretty graphic but how else o you explain it? lol). So, I called the doctor and said I have no idea what this is but I am scared (throughout my pregnancy noone ever told me about this). They told me to go to the hospital as soon as possible because I had/was losing my mucous plug. I didn't begin having contractions until they broke my water, about an hour after I arrived. An hour after they broke my water, my baby was born. Went very fast.
Good Luck Mom-to-Be ;) Let us know when you deliver :)

with my first I went into labor at 35 Weeks. I was severely nesting. I panicked before to be sure ever little thing was clean and ready. this started about 1 week before my water broke. I also had severe braxton hicks contractions, they would have me gasping for air. With my second, she went so low I thought she was going to fall out while I was just standing. Everone's different. You become no matter what very anxious when you getting close.

1. what week were you when you gave birth?
41 weeks, I had to be induced.
2. when did you start getting signs labour might be beginning?
Well, when I showed up at the hospital, they put me on the monitor and they said I was already having contractions, but I couldn't feel them.
3. what were your early signs of labour?
No early signs at all, they had to go in and get her.
July 7th of this year, checked into the hospital at 6AM. The gave me cervadil to ripen my cervix, and pitocin at 9AM to jumpstart the contractions. Pain was moderate, and I tried so hard to remain calm. Only my husband was there (I didn't want any other family else in the room) Around 11:30.. pain got severe, asked for an epidural. I wasn't screaming, but I was shivering the pain was so bad. Got my epidural, and contractions were pretty strong from about noon to 6PM when my personal doctor came back to work.
She told me I was looking good, beginning to get in proper position and station, and that she had a meeting to attend but the nurses were to page her once active labor started. We paged her 30 minutes later LOL. Really started pushing hard around 7:30...kept dozing in and out and I couldn't push as hard as I wanted. Around 8:15... pushing but it seemed like she was creeping back up my vaginal canal... pushed really hard two last times, and then punked out and started whinning "I can do this, waaah!!!!" Nurse came up and pressed on my labia... and my daughter popped right out at 8:22PM. The instanst she came out, I felt my womb just closing back up (weird feeling) and I couldn't belive she was out so fast.
I don't want to brag, but I had a very easy labor. and the previous 9 months weren't bad either. Only got sick once or twice.
Don't let people's horror stories spook you. I thought I was in for a rough delivery, but for me to be a 30 year old 1st time mommy, things went very smoothly and I thank God.
