I`m getting ready to watch it

I can tell you that Donnie Darko is NOT gory.
But for scary...it depends what you think scary is. I personally think psychological movies are much more "scary" then slashers or ghost movies. I found Donnie Darko to be "scary."
But it is a REALLY good movie. But I would say you have to be a good "movie watcher." The movie is kind of slow paced. There isnt a lot of action or anything...but there are some intense moments and good dialogue. The movie was really ahead of its time.
Good movie choice. You may need to watch it more then once to understand it. Its alot of fun talking it over with your friends.

Not really scary at all. Donnie Darko is my favorite movie and I've seen it about 10 times and it never gets old to me. I wouldn't call it scary, but more like weird and creepy. I think it's really good, but I don't think there are any jumps in it, unless seeing a 6 foot bunny with a creepy-looking face scares you. I think you should check it out. It's a great movie! =)

It's not scary or gory. It certainly is strange, though. Pay close attention though. There are details here and there that you need to catch if you want to understand the ending. Overall a great movie!

Donnie Darko is kickazz! It's one of my favorite movies. You have to really watch it more than once to really appreciate it. But, alas, no gore and not really scary. Just suspense and wierdness.

not scary, but kind of disturbing. not gory all the way through but i remember something kind of gross with the rabbit. (also in the deleted scenes). like everyone else said, though, pay attention. it's a movie that you have to think about. and if you still don't get it (like me), you can go to the special features on the dvd. it helps a lot. good movie, though.

It really isnt scary. It is a very strange movie, strange in the way that a Tim Burton or Terry Gilliam (12 monkeys) movie is. It deals with halloween but it is not a Halloween horror movie. Its just a GOOD MOVIE!

No, it is pretty cool, a little hard to understand if you are tired or if you miss any parts so don't miss anything.
