Yes, he's really interesting: His voyages to the Americas began a European effort at exploration and colonization of the continent.
He discovered the Americas.
You'll find *a lot* of good books on him at your local library. And you can find a lot of info from wikipedia:
However, Columbus' voyage came at a critical time of growing national imperialism and economic competition between developing nation states seeking wealth from the establishment of trade routes and colonies. Therefore, the period before 1492 is known as Pre-Columbian, and the anniversary of this event (Columbus Day) is celebrated throughout the Americas and in Spain and Italy; although, as the legacy of colonialism in the Americas is today viewed somewhat more negatively than in the past, Columbus has become a divisive figure....

Perhaps the most famous explorer was Christopher Columbus. Born in Genoa, Italy, in 1451 to a weaver, young Columbus first went to sea at the age of fourteen. As a young man, he settled in Portugal and married a woman of noble background. After his wife's death in 1485, Columbus and his young son Diego moved to Spain. More…..

He is credited with discovering America....that is interesting enough. He also had to wait to receive the money for the trip because Spain was in a war. His first trip was in 1492.
If it is a book report shouldn't there be a book to tell you interesting facts about him?
