Because we know what neurotic and emotional psychopaths women are at the best of times, let alone in that sort of situation.
So yeah, guys lie.
But no more than women do. Just not as effectively.

its not that only men say that,, more often these days its more on girls side,,,
dint love u anymore can come out only when u have some reason,,,
but i have seen most the times its Ur anger, Ur expectations are high towards Ur partner, Ur work load,,,,,,, and above all loss of trust makes u say this,,,
but its u who has to judge why Ur partner said this,,, if u can do that there is only one word left,, love( then he/ she says hey i love u,)

girl please! If a guy say they don't love you anymore that doesn't mean that they are protecting themselves. when he doesn't want u he doesn't want u just back off. a guy maybe upfront with u while we women are more attached and feels more like a backstabbing ***** when we don't want to say it rather we lie about it.

If the man says he doesnt love you then he probably doesnt love you. I dont see how a lie like that protects anyone.

Perhaps they just really don't love you anymore...people do lie, its true...and they often are not honest (or completely honest) when giving reasons for a breakup...
But I don't see how "I don't love you any more" is protecting oneself from something...unless you are implying he's breaking up with her, before she can break up with him?

If its not a lie, then he could be in denial, but that seems quite unlikely.Sorry

If some one tells you they don't love you, it is best to believe them, because if they did love you they wouldn't hurt you like that for no good reason.
