why don't u ask them? maybe because in every question, it could have more than one answers and the more answers they can get, it's a gain for them so it costs 5 points. unlike when u answer, ur answer is just a part of a question. u r not the only one answering that particular question.. It's like giving of service.. u asked, so as payment for the answers u get, 5 points will be deducted from ur points. and in return, if u answer some of the questions posted, u will have 2 points. i hope u got it.

I don't know... I never understood why people are penalized for asking. It dosn't make sense to me because it takes both Questions and Answers to make the site work

to ensure that questions get answered. wouldn't be much of a site if everyone asked questions and nobody answered them.
