I'm the safety director at a trucking company, and one of my tasks is to put together a podcast featuring songs, comedy, and of course safety messages for my drivers every month. Picking music for the 3 terminals I have been responsible for has been no problem, because the drivers there all listen to the same thing I do: country and classic rock.

The terminal I just inherited features a younger, more urban group of drivers, and I've already heard a few comments about the music. Can someone give me a few songs which will appeal to these guys without making my classic rockers claw at their ears in agony? They don't have to be current, but recent would be nice.

Thanks for your help!

hip hop music spliced with rock music just sounds horrible to me, try giving out some stuff that became the roots of hip hop, like reggae or blues. Also if you were to start adding hip hop songs, i wouldnt add modern day stuff or even late 90s music - its generally commercial, sucky and will garner no respect from anyone who really appreciates music. i would try to get some old nas, run dmc or beastie boys. Also the fugees original album - the score should work fine. A tribe called quest also produces some great, non aggresive and smooth songs. If you want more modern stuff, try to get some Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West Or John Legend. Jay z i would also recommend

How about some collaborations between the two types of music....

Nelly & Tim McGraw "Over & Over"
Biohazard & Public Enemy "Bring the Noise"
Jay-Z & Linkin Park "Numb/Encore"
Aerosmith & RUN DMC "Walk This Way"

I love all types of music, I hope these work out for you!! Good luck!!
