No, he IS military personnel, and has a distinguished record for serving his country in wartime, unlike the guy in the White House who happily sends people off to die in an illegal war without ever having seen action himself.
Apparently it has escaped your notice that military recruiters target kids in school who aren't doing well, and kids in poor areas of the country who have no job prospects or higher education. That's how they fill those quotas. And, many of the people who have been sent to Iraq are stuck there because the government has issued stop-loss orders, prohibiting them from returning home after their tour of duty should have ended!
Liberals don't hate the military. There are a lot of people who have returned from Iraq who are running for office in this next election, precisely because they have served, and hate to see our troops' lives squandered in a ill-conceived, illegal war. They are opposing Bush and those who serve him, having seen first-hand the result of his 'leadership.'
FYI, 650,000+ dead Iraqis and 3000+ dead Americans already qualifies as a bloodbath. Any 'terrible choices' Bush is left with will be entirely of his own making.

*sigh*
LIBERALS DO NOT HATE THE MILITARY!!!!!!!!
What he was saying, is that alot of people who's mommys and daddy's don't have billions of dollars to send them to the best private colleges have very few choices. Get a low-wage job that no matter how many hours they work in a week will not support them and will certainly NOT support a family, or join the military, have a hope of getting an education if you survive Iraq.
He is NOT saying the EVERY PERSON in the military is uneducated, not possessing education or intelligence. What he IS SAYING, is that the people who fall through the cracks in our country often have no other recourse but the military.
This whole bruhaha is based on a very basic MISREPRESENTATION of what he said.

Kerry fumble-mouthed an answer. Bush flew to the deck of the Lincoln and declared victory years ago, but he forgot to tell the guys that are shooting at us.

Sen. Kerry seems to be a bright man but, on one too many occations, including this one, he has clearly (crystal) demonstrated that he lacks the discipline to process his words before he shoots his mouth. This, therefore, makes the audience question both his true intensions and his intellect. Is he calling our soldiers dumb or is he just dumb?

Republicans need to realize they are
getting pretty desperate and are grasping
at anything to stay alive...such a evil party!
To answer your question...
Bush degrades & humilitates
his military personal everyday...
and yet Republicans act so shocked
when liberals just say something this bland...
while Bush kills...acutally kills thousands upon
thousands of innocent civillians...Republicans
do need to get their "moral values" straight cuz
they sure are messed up in thier logic!!!
Thats such a twisted logic statement you ended your
question with...expect a bloodbath if you don't vote
republican...what has it been for the past 3 years...
Blood showers???

John kerry degrades the human race by his presence but as p.t. barnum said there is one born every minute and surely his diatribe will be bought by some idiot liberal looking for a cause and a spokesperson.

I have military in my family- I think this issue has been flogged unnecessarily. His wording may have been wacked but I don't believe he meant it to be insulting. Republicans and the rest of us can stop flogging the dead horse as that will not solve the issue with Iraq.

YES. CLEARLY HE DID.
There is no way I can respect any pathetic freak who apologizes for Kerry's remarks. You can be a liberal and have the integrity to admitt when a leftist moron says something unbelievably stupid, if not damaging to the country.
There is NO EXCUSE FOR THIS ABSURD REMARK. NONE!
