I have dealt with a few Emachines and 9 times out of 10 they ended up with a bad power supply. I would goto your local PC store and get a PSU tester (about $10) an check it out. I would bet you need to replace it.

If it is still underwarranty then get it repaired... eMachines are a very poor quality computer I am sorry to say they just dont hold up nor last very long. I would like to suggest you get a new Hewlitt Packard or other quaility computer. Complete with new hardward too as Xp does not like OLD hardware nor does it like most older software either.
