Yes, stretching will naturally increase your bounce by 6 inches at least if you stretch regularly. When it comes to basketball the legs are the most important thing to stretch, they require ROM (range of motion) that isn't in your normal ROM. I'll explain to you the basic stretches of basketball from there you can pretty much wing it or by Micheal Jordans JUMP book for like 25 bucks here it is
1) Butterfly stretch- sit down with your legs bent and knees in the air. Slowly let them down to the sides
2) One legged stretch- sit down and stick one leg out and one leg in butterfly position grab your toes if you can't grab ankle
3) flamingo lieing down- lay down and pull you leg behind you stretching your femoris muscle
4) Piriformis Stretch- Look up on google Hard to explain
5) squat- squat down really low till your muscles hurt
6) stand up and bend forward touch your toes
Hold each one for 15 secs, this should last at least 5minutes
a stretch twice a day would be good
Also Stretching increases blood flow to the legs and increase your legs mobility it increases heart rate and releases adrenaline it feels good and takes barely no time at all. if you stretch regularly that'll naturally increase bounce by 6 inches in 2 months

Streches can help no matter what anybody might say, if you strecth a lot every day it is a fact that your flexibility will improve and usually your vertical will improve with it. Do the toe touch, the quad(flamingo), the hamstring(lay down and pull your leg up while keeping your leg straight), the groin(butterfly), and the calf stretch(push up position, one foot stretching other legs calf). I've also heard that if you do a hip flexor stretch it will temporarily improve jump. I don't know if it would last though. Some people say that doing static stretches like these will not help your vertical, but that is only for like right after the strecth. They create flexibility and flexibility increases jump. That's my theory anyway. I always feel like I can jump higher after I do these so I hope you will to.

It probably would help you jump higher. It also keeps you flexible, limber and helps prevent injuries such as pulled hamstrings. You should always stretch before doing any sort of sport, and even dance (as in dance classes, hip hop, ballet, jazz, etc.) and it is highly recommended to do some stretchs and cool downs afterwards as well. Again, this will help prevent injuries. Hamstring pulls, among other things aren't fun and can prevent you from doing what you enjoy doing for quite a while. My daughter got a slight hamstring pull and was out of P.E. and soccer for 2-1/2 weeks.
Good luck with the stretching!

stretching before any physical activity helps you. This is because your mussles will be loose. But if you want to jump higher then build up your calves, and loose weight from your upper body. Also put on ankles weights and use a jump rope.

Stretching limbers up your body & muscles before doing these competitive sports; to help you to not pull a muscle etc when you compete. So it could, essentially, help you jump higher than you would be able to by trying to jump cold without doing your "warm-ups".
