My brother's computer will not start and when you turn it on nothing comes on the screen ..?

the computer only makes a beeping noise and will not turn on. Does anyone know what the cause might be. Windows XP.

bad hardware it could be the ram video card mobo etc.i had that happen to me and i had dead ram i changed the ram and then it worked fine after that.

Before start doing anything these guys are telling, make sure the monitor connection is not loose and the cables are connected correctly.

The way it beeps is a clue as to what is wrong. Different main boards have different codes, like one long-ish beep, three short beeps, etc. So find out what main board he has and go to their site and look for their beep codes, and/or go to google and type "beep codes" and look at the various entries. If it is a computer that is made by a company, as opposed to a user made one, go to their site or call their tech support...oh, and be sure you have heard the beep right, :O).

Sounds like the RAM is missing from the computer. Open it up and check the slot where RAMs would go (depending on the PC it would be anywhere from 3-4 vertical slots)

i do no longer understand yet i think of of your integrated photographs card burned or short-circuited. and proper perfect me if i'm incorrect all and sundry, yet integrated photographs are in basic terms a area of your RAM used to generate video and the north bridge controls those themes so it would desire to be the north bridge that overheated and fried out.
