No, I never have hit a deer, however, I was on the way to a friends house and hit 2 little dogs. :( The road is really curvy, and I was following the 20 mph speed limit, but right when I got over the hill, 2 little dogs trotted onto the road, and even if the road was dry, I would not have had enough length to stop in time. It was the worst experience of my life. I imediately pulled over and went to the house it seemed the dogs came from and informed them of the accident. It was their neighbors dogs, but they were grateful I at least informed them. It broke my heart to see them so sad! I felt like a horrible person, even though there was nothing I could have done to prevent it.

:(

I tapped a deer in the shoulder one evening . It left a hair on my bumper as proof. 10 miles prior to that, I ran over a cat. When I got home, I gave my husband the keys to my car. I felt horrible. It just wasn't my night. I was lucky there wasn't a moose around, I probably would have hit that too.

Not a deer but we hit an elk while going 140km/h. And where I live you have to watch out for buffalo on the highways. If you hit one of those your pretty much toast. It's like hitting a brick wall.

No I haven't, but ironically my husband was giving me the third degree about what I would do in a situation, if I would swerve or stay and hit the deer. It was like being in drivers ed again.

Not personally, but my husband (a truck driver) hit six at once while driving in the mountains. Good thing he was in his work truck! He said he could smell cooked venison all the way home!

Oh...We hit one last weekend on the way to camp. It sucked....there was a truck in the other lane that hit it and threw it into our lane...then my hubby hit it and it threw us into a ditch. Other than the fact we had to get pulled out of the ditch....no one was hurt and the car was fine....
