I loathe republicans a little less than democrats. Thats the sum of my politics. Recognizing that all humans have some bias to wrestle with, I try to strip myself of partythink or partyidentification everyday.
Heres one way you can spot a lemming...an automiton...a partythink drone...a pathetic pathetic excuse for a "human". Ready for my simple test? Ok here is my partythink drone test >> anyone who rationalizes/apologizes for the statement of John Kerry. Period.
I have a liberal friend who has already agreed that there is no possible conceievable rationale for this statement. Anything less is pure leftist knee jerk automiton apologetics.
Maybe, if Kerry follows through with this sentiment, there will be no one left in infantry...no one who wants to be labeled "dumb"

Kerry`s statements just prove the how the Democrats are uninformed and have true contempt for the Military.
1.The Military is better educated than the general population.
2.The Military is all volunteer.
3. One can not join without a minimum of a high school degree.
4. 73.3 percent of the Enlisted Military have some college, 16.2 percent have an associate’s degree or equivalent semester hours, and 4.7 have a bachelor’s degree. 85 percent of officers have advanced degrees – 70.7 percent have master’s degrees, 12.1 percent have professional degrees and 2.5 percent have doctorate degrees.
5. Dropouts can not get in the Military. They have to go to Mc Donalds.
6. Bush out performed with better grades Kerry in the same school and Bush went further.
7. There is no draft that takes underachieving kids out of school and sends them to war, that was the Vietnam war.
8. Kerry was talking to students about education.
So Kerry`s joke doesn`t fit and he was stating what he believed about a Military he has contempt for. The "Joke" was damage control for the gullible.

What Sen. Kerry said was bad for the military in general.
Even if he made a mistake and meant it towards the President, what he said attaches yet one more negative stigma to men and women serving in the United States armed forces. So, if that sort of rhetoric decreases the amount of people willing to serve in our military, then I can forsee a time where the draft gets reinstated.
It may not be in the immediate future, but as time goes on and the anti-war rhetoric increases, the stigma will either remain or grow...unless or until Hollywood re-adopts G.I. Joe to promote it once again.

Maybe a no solider left behind program.
And Kerry will not even say he is sorry for what he said. I said earlier today and still beleive, this one statement can well cost the democrats the election come next tuesday.
Since alot of america except for some real fringe people really support the troops, they may not like Bush but they like our troops are they are thier sons, their brothers, they newphews and so on.
I think this one event, if nothing else happens this week, will shift the entire election.

Having actually served in both the military and Iraq, I can honestly tell you that I am not offended by that statement at all. You and overly-patriotic people are taking it out of context. To be honest, the majority of the people who serve ARE uneducated. The small portion that is still can't lead or make practical decisions to save their lives.
Do you want to know what my Battalion Commander told me when he found out that I had no interest in re-enlisting? His exact words..."if you get out of the Army, the best you'll ever do is working at McDonald's"...so even our "educated" leadership don't think we're worth a damn.
You complain about something you don't know or understand fully. Unless you have walked the walk and talked the talk, shut up!
