OK, so in my last question I explained how I had to get an ultrasound b/c the doctor thought there was something wrong.
It turns out that I have a cyst in my ovaries.

Does it have to be removed? Has anyone had this experience and what did you do?

Ovarian cysts and fibroid tumours are not really the same. Fibroids usually occur in older women. These are not cancerous and do shrink with menopause. It depends on the woman. Some have them and don't even know it, while others can have heavy bleeding, blood clots and severe pain. Those who suffer will be told that a complete hysterectomy is necessary. Ovarian cysts on the other hand may be cancerous. Some times there is no other choice but to remove the ovary.

Yes, I've had this experience. and ended up having to have a radical hysterectomy. I'm still young, but I wouldn't change a thing. It needed to be done.
I recommend if there is any doubt about this in your mind, get those ovaries removed. I know I probably sound crazy to you, but I'm speaking to you from the heart. I lost my mother one year ago to ovarian cancer, it is one of the hardest types of cancer to detect. my mother was the most wonderful, caring, kind, and loving woman I've ever known, and I will miss her every day of my life. my mom is in Heaven, and I know I'll be there with her one day. but until then I will continue to miss her.
she lived just a little over a year from the time she was diagnosed.
please, find the best ob/gyn you possibly can, and sit down with him or her and discuss what your best options are. and ask questions, that's what they're there for.
I wish you the very best, and I will keep you in my prayers.
