4 cyl. They get better gas mileage and some of them can be just as fast as 6 cyls.
I had both and both were great.

Definately a V-6, I have drove 4 cyl cars for years because they are supposed too be so much better on gas mileage. However I now drive a Chevy Lumina and the fuel mileage is practically the same as a small car with the exception that I have alot more power and take off speed. Also a V-6 is not so compacticted into a tiny little box therefore if you need too work on it the parts are easier too get too and easier too change.

I like the Torque and response of a V6. V6's get power more in the middle of the Torque curve. 4 Cyls, can be slower off the line can't carry as much load & takes longer to get into their power curve.

It depends on the car manufactuer. Some 4 cylinder engines are quite impressive.

depends on car and driver.........some manufacturers make some awesome 4cyl. and some don't....same goes with the v6............the gas mileage on the two motors is about the same........it also depends on how you drive............if I had a choice, I'd try to find a v6 unless I found a 4 cyl. car that i know is good (like the Nissan 240SX)

Well I prefer my 390 big block, but it prefers to stop at every gas station so it stays at home. My 'yoter is more frugal than the 6 miles to the gal that the old FE gets.

I can't imagine why you would care, but I love big V8 engines,
old dirt racer. We ran Holman Moody 460 Ford engines, headers, almost a 4 inch piston stroke, 2 Holley Carbs, but I'm all for electric docking stations now.

a v6 runs much smoother and a lot quieter than a 4 cyl.
