Depend on how safe I thought my situation was. Never would have ran, because of weakness to Mountain Lion that would have shown, but got myself to safe position as quickly and safely as possible with hope that that beautiful animal still could be seen. That would be neat watching. Try for ad for car communication system. Help in car nine hours and Mountain Lion won't leave. LOL

I think if I saw a mountain lion, I probably would have lost my breath and ran like a guy.

Running like a girl sounds good to me.
If he was hungry, he could have easily taken you out. If not, you missed the opportunity to photograph it, thus proving you didn't make it up or imagine it. No one is going to believe you.
I know because I saw one crossing the highway in a small town outside of Dallas, and no one beleieves me either.

I would say "hold that thought, Mr. Cat" and then I'd call my husbands ex-wife up and tell her I found some child support money that mustve been floating around in the car for 3 years.

I would have screamed THEN ran like a girl. (Oh hang on, I am a girl). It doesn't matter, knowing my luck I would trip and get eaten by the bloody thing.

It would depend on the local laws. I would have slowly moved into the house, and called animal control, and asked for directions. I wouldn't have run, they can outrun you if you get their attention.
Edit: If I had livestock or pets, I may have shot it, if local laws allow it.

lol..er..sorry just visualizing that run move..I'd of slipped to my back door,got the shotgun & aimed carefully,then ba boom...one less mountain lion to worry about in my area...living in the country has its advantages ey?
