Zito would be a perfect fit for New York; he's a Zen-practicing surfer who can handle the pressure of the spotlight. The Yankees, with their resources, are always the favorite to sign the big-name free agent, and I think they'll go after Zito with everything they can muster.

i doubt that, i think zito will go to the cubs, yankees are bringin back johnson whom just went through shoulder surgery, they are also looking at prior and wood who have been injured since i can remember, cubs are in the rebuilding stage and are looking to sign veteran/healthy pitchers and zito is their first choice, cubs are desperate after finishing as the worst team in the nl as far as pitching is concerned and wont let him slip to the yankees, as a cards fan, i hope he does go to the yankees

Zito is a guy that needs some run support. He would do better with either of the NY teams. We'll see what happens.

I hope so. Left hand pitchers usually fare well in Yankee Stadium. We could use a good lefty, hell we could use a good pitcher period.

He'll go to the Mets - that's where his old pitching coach is.
