They said that the ghost of Freddy Kruger was in the attic. I didn't believe them -- how can a fictional character haunt a real place? "Please don't try to scare me. I don't believe in such nonsense," I told them. So, they left me alone in the house. On Halloween night. The winds whipped up, and blew all the trick-or-treaters away, and I thought I could hear screams in the bushes. I tried to call them, to take me home, but suddenly, the telephone lines had been cut, or the wicked wind had blown them down. The lights went out as well. But from under the door of the attic came the blue light of a TV screen. How could there be a TV working with no electricity? I wondered if maybe the power to the attic had been spared, and I ran up the stairs. I opened the door, but no matter how many times I flicked the light switch, nothing came on. Only the hissing blue of the TV screen. I popped the tape out of the VCR, which was also mysteriously running, and noticed it was Nightmare On Elm Street. Then, even the TV went blank, and suddenly, the video came on -- even though I was holding it in my hand, it came on. And the mysterious strains of soundtrack echoed through the attic, and I felt something touch my shoulder, and . . . .
The police came the next day and found a bloody handprint on the window. The DNA belonged to the babysitter who had been left alone in the house, on Halloween. And the videotape lay on the floor of the attic, waiting for next year.

it was halloween night on Elm st........and i could hear screams in the bushes,i looked outside and i saw a bloody handprint on the window. i called the cops but the telephone line was dead. i went to go check the attic....but freddy krugers ghost was in the attic. i felt something touch my shoulder i turned around and saw it was freddy kruger....i said,"please don't scare me"
