Well being original is fine, but remember that your child has to live with whatever you call her for the rest of her life - faddy names are easily aged - all the Kayleighs are now in their mid twenties (thanks, Marillion). Also, there are a lot of names that are stereotyped in local areas - when I was working in a hospital in Aberdeen in the late 90s, one of the midwives told me that loads of the babies with heroin withdrawal from addict mothers were called Cameron or Connor - those names were totally ruined for me just by that one comment! I read something once that said if you want your child to be a professional (any good profession) imagine their name printed on the plaque on a door of a doctor's surgery and think about how confident that name would make you feel - Dr Victoria Taylor or Dr Honey-Angel Anderson?
