My name is Paul Donohoe, and I am putting together a documentry on teen culture, and I need your help. I'm exploring Teen Suicide, and I need songs that enocourage suicide, like "Last Kiss" by Mest or "Poetic Tragedy" by Nine Inch Nails so I have some evidence when I pitch my idea in a few weeks. Thank you for helping, for by helping me, you could save a teenage life.

Good luck actually having an influence, but my cousin's favorite is an Evanescence song, Tourniquet. It's frightening. Nice vocals, but frightening.

Songs don't encourage suicide !! People might use other's songs lyrics to express feelings that they can't put into words but to imply that suicide is anyone's fault but the person doing the dying is just wrong . Trent Reznor of NIN never put a blade to a suicidal kid's wrist . This is a theory that has been around for years , see Judas Priest . Instead of blaming musicians look for ways to improve awareness of depression and treatment for depression . Attempt to help families and friend groups strengthen bonds so that suicidal feelings dont go unnoticed .Just don't blame the music , more often than not music is an escape from the pressures of everyday life . I know music has helped me through some hard times .

Songs do no longer inspire suicide !! human beings might use different's songs lyrics to specific thoughts that they might't placed into words yet to intend that suicide is anybody's fault however the guy doing the lack of ability of lifestyles is merely incorrect . Trent Reznor of NIN by no potential placed a blade to a suicidal little one's wrist . this might properly be a theory that has been around for years , see Judas Priest . rather of blaming musicians seem for information on a thank you to advance understanding of melancholy and therapy for melancholy . attempt to help families and chum communities strengthen bonds so as that suicidal thoughts dont pass no longer noted .do exactly no longer blame the music , in maximum situations music is an get away from the pressures of on a regular basis lifestyles . i recognize music has helped me by using some demanding cases .

I don't think music ever encourage suicide. The artists are either communicating something they have seen someone go through,or how they were feeling at the time.If a teen is considering suicide, they will find a reason in anything. If it's not music,it would be some sort of literature, cinema or painting.I think the people who are left behind by suicide are just looking for something/someone to blame, which of course is understandable,it's human to want to find blame in something other then the person who committed suicide.

President Bushes behavior encourages teen suicde. Why don't you consider that thought as well?
I think you are concentrating on symptoms, not the root of the problem. This question " pre-judges " ( is PREJUDICED AGAINST) music as the cause for the Teen Suicide phenomena.
The music is a REACTION to the problem, not the root of it.
Unless you are just a media person sniffing out a " story ", you are a bit naif...Or are TROLLING....

Well man, I'll start by telling you I'm a musician myself, so I may be bias. But here's my answer.
I don't know of a single song that "encourages" suicide. There are songs that may be about death or suicide. But I know of none that have a message that says "go kill yourself". So I'm sorry to be so negative, but if you think that by exposing a certain type of music you'll save some lives, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
If this is the type of thing you want to do, I'd say switch to High School violence and go after first-person-shooter videogames, you'll have more support in that category.

I think there are no songs EVER written that encourage suicide, but there are plenty of songs about being sad, as music is about the expression of emotion.
