Strangely, I find atheists to be very religious. They tend to think about religious / spiritual matters more than the average person, and I've had some great conversations with them.
Granted, there are some who are totally illiterate about religious things, and it's irritating to hear them flail around at things that are not true. My favorite one is when they talk about how many people have died due to religion -- at which point I ask them about the 100 million people who died at the hands of atheists (communists).
Would I marry one? No, for the same reason I wouldn't marry a Buddhist, or Hindu, or anyone else outside of my faith -- those marriages have 2 strikes against them from the very beginning.

I used to be one, so I would have to say that they're normal people. An atheist can simply be a person who needs certainty in their lives. That's the way I was. My belief in God came about gradually, over a period of years, as a result of reading some books (not from any person trying to convince me in a conversation). For those of you who do believe in God (as I do), remember that your belief should make you a more compassionate, understanding person, not a judgemental one.

I feel so sorry for the Athiests, as they do not know God. Yes, their lives are sad and not looking forward to their Souls being with God. If I fell in Love and married one, I would do the best I could and go slow at trying them see the true light of God. But I would not be forcefull. I think I am married to one. But I let him be and do not hound him. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs, You can't force something on someone, if they don't believe it. My hubby and I believe in what we do. We do not badger each other , Let and Let live.

Their morality depends on who they are, not whether or not they believe in god. No, they aren't leading sad lives. If my boyfriend became an atheist, I'd still marry him.

I don't have an overall opinion of athiests; these are just people as well. I dont think any less of them. I'm not sure if I would marry one; maybe if they were a type of Buddhist

It's fine, I like people who believe in a higher purpose in my life better, but one thing you have to give the atheists credit for is a certain amount of intellectual honesty- which I see missing in a lot of so called 'religious' people.

i don't have anything against an atheist who doesn't prejudice me for my beliefs, which most on this site do. Then i get irked a bit. I wouldn't be suited to marriage with one. I must say that i take a more liberal view than most christians, to boot.
