Many in the Military are illegal immigrants who enter to gain citizenship.

Yea man, it happens more often than not.
One has only to serve to see that it is true.
The question is, are they BETTER OFF for it.
Only time can tell.
I can tell you this, the dead ones aren't.
The ones that go on and go back to school, get that degree whether they serve in the reserves or not are.
I was! I came within 50 yards of eating a 200lb drop from a u.s. navy f18, but im still here.
And to the guy below who says he served and that they are there for loyalty to country......... you couldn' be more wrong.
Many voice that out of pride and necessity, few actually believe it.

If they enter to gain citizenship, I am proud of them. They will learn plenty of values of an American in the army. I actually thought of having illegals doing such to become an American.

The subject of John Kerry's stupid comment. He failed to clarify it and lost a lot of ground with a filibuster follow up. He would not run a responsive government. It is the same thing the sheriff and police do in California when owning up to misconduct of officers.

ECONOMIC REASONS. Listen retard, after spending numerous years in the Marine Corps, I can tell you that it's not the greatest paying job. Maybe you liberals just don't understand the military or the people that make it up. Everyone that wants to enjoy the freedom of this country should have to spend at least two years in. Its not the pay that keeps them there, its their loyalty to protecting your freedom. How about just saying THANK YOU.

Absolutely.
When jobs are being sent over seas to be replaced by fast food garbage jobs they dont have much alternative, because they think it will provide them with a better life and medical benefits and security for their families. Have you noticed alot of soldiers also marry and have kids very young? Or do they get a local girl pregnant, have no options because abortion is frowned on in their small conservative town, have to marry the girl then join the military in hopes of bettering their lives only to get a leg blown off in Iraq

wat other reason is there? to kiss bushs azz? .. a very very small minority join because of family tradition ... people can spout their horsepoopy to me all day long about why they are doing it to "serve" their country and i dont buy it ... its just another job .... and to most they are down and out and dont know what else to do with their life so its a way out ... an "adventure"
