Or does he yell "come about."? any one know?

I don't remember clearly but I think it's because they were about to pass her by and when she blew the whistle they had to turn the rescue boat around. "Come about" means "turn around".

Personally, I thought he said, "come around" meaning whistle again so he can hear where it was coming from

but come about makes sense too..
