That happened to me when I was 17 - my best friend made me go out trick or treating one last time - some people gave me a hard time and it was EMBARRASSING. People were saying "there ought to be a law!" How much does that suck?

But don't worry about that old lady, she's bitter. 13 is fine to go trick or treating - enjoy your candy!

People get grumpy for a lot of reasons, and it's not possible to know why she was. I'm sorry you felt bad. Halloween is supposed to be fun. My 13-year-old is out there right now hustling herself from house to house. She has a thicker skin (necessary it seems) than I had at your age, perhaps than you have now, so just tell yourself it wasn't you, it was the lady. There's some time left, can you wipe your tears, grab a friend and go out there again?

There probably won't be many years left for you to trick or treat, so enjoy!

Honey- you shouldn't have let some old lady ruin your entire halloween. Some people do have different beliefs in when people should and shouldn't go trick-or cheating. But when I was about your age and became worried about being too old to go I started taking my sisters. I still went with my friends but because my sisters were so cute people couldn't help but give us candy (it didn't hurt that we were being nice to them). Anyways I woudn't let one lady ruin your holiday. Enjoy the candy you have and smile a little at least you got to dress up!

Hey trick or treater, all I can say is that you just have a good time. Some one else is haveing a bad day or just isn't a very a nice person. There is times that somebody will do something and not realize that they did it. I'm sure she did not do it intentionally. Keep your head up and keep your pretty smile. Have a good night. Happy Halloween!

You have to realize that she was in a wheelchair and there is a very good chance , that she was senile and it had absolutely nothing to do with you personally. I am sorry this happened to you, cheer up and go back trick or treating and have fun, don't let one grumpy old person spoil it for you. Good Luck.

13 is right on the edge of being too old to go trick or treating...generally, around that age, I think it's more appropriate to go to Halloween parties.

Oh, thats sooo mean and sad... Don't let it get to you! Old people get very confused, my grandma says things to me that I can't even believe. You should go back out and get more candy!!! I would give you extra.
