I vote for "Maggie Seaver" from "Growing Pains". She always seemed more concerned with herself and career than her family.

Edina Monsoon from Absolutely Fabulous. She is a pill popping, chain smoking, alcoholic party animal who owns a PR Company which funds her drug fuelled lifestyle.
She does whatever she wants whenever she wants. Her daughter who has been ignored from birth rebels by being a square whilst her mother wishes she was an artist, a lesbian or anything interesting. Her son is gay but not what she call a "cool gay" as he acts too straight.
Her best friend Patsy is an alcoholic who works for Vogue, doing absolutely nothing. They both live a life of shopping and luncheons and not much else.
They once sold the daugther as a slave in Morocco because she was annoying them.

Lucy in the original I Love Lucy show. And Laura Petree in the original Dick Van Dyke Show. Both of them kept their kids in another room constantly. It was like the little boys were a pet. So funny. So much an image of that early era.

I'd say the mom on Malcom in the Middle, she's just so evil and she's always completly freaking out. Her or Roseanne cause she's just disgusting and loud too......I'm picking Roseanne.

Marie Barone from Everybody Love Raymond. I loved the show and still watch the reruns but I cringe everytime she's on. She's a coddling mother to 2 grown men and an awful mother-in-law.....by the way, my mother-in-law's name is also Marie!

samantha from bewitched.......not that she is bad....but she makes motherhood and raising a young child seem effortless and puts the standards up for us...our husbands start to expect more.....but they forget she is a witch.....lol.... if only i had her nose.......lol
