Cramps are not just a reminder you're on your period, they're a warning that it's coming! So yes, it's totally normal to have cramps both before and during your period. The week before my first period I was miserable and couldn't figure out why... I had cramps in my abdomen AND my back.

Some spotting (=bleeding off and on) is normal, every woman is different. Diet, exercise or lack thereof, stress, can all lead to an irregular period. If it just started, your flow may get heavier during the middle of your period, and also may get heavier or become more consistent after a few cycles. A period usually starts out light, gets heavier, and tapers off toward the end. Like I said though, every body is different and you'll figure out what's normal for you.

This is perfectly normal. Cramps before and during a period are caused by the uterus which is contracting. There are so many more symptoms. Every woman is different. While we have a lot of the same symptoms, we also have completely different ones as well.

The cramps is just a reminder that your period is about to start soon. But if it bothers you I advise you to go see your Dr.

I would go to the doctor. It might not be serious, but don't take a chance. It could be a change in your menstrual cycle. Just be careful whatever you do. Good luck!
