In a 1 gallon tank only 1 type of fish can live in it and that would be a betta. I personally don't keep them in anything smaller then 5 gallons but a 1 gallon is better then what most people keep them in.

none of them die more than once, so there is no correct answer to your question.
if, however, you are asking what kind of fish tend to be tough and long lived in an aquarium then the best answer is that most will do well as long as they are taken care of. there are some kinds that tend to not do as well though. just ask at a fish store before you buy if the fish you are interested in tends to be hard to care for.
1 gallon? i would highly recommend that you get larger than that. generally one gallon isn't really used for anything other than a beta or a goldfish. i wouldn't advise anything less than at least a 20 gallon tank. then the general rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. a 10 gallon tank for 5 2 inch fish or 10 1 inch fish etc...

Yah.... fish only die once. Not a lot.
Anyway... Why bother with a 1 gallon tank?????
If that's really the best you can do, then try out a Siamese fighting fish. They are beautiful, but you can only have one. Hence their name.

A fancy gold fish. They have different types of goldfish and they are pretty hardy fish. The fancy type are more expensive than the feeder goldfish but still affordable. My goldfish lived a long time!

Maybe try neon tetras or something like that or a beta or guppies. There's not much that you can keep in such a small place with un heated water.

well most fresh water fish are pretty hearty, I like coy. saltwater fish are a little more sensitive. if youre killing fish i'd recomend buying a book or studying aquarium setup online. when in doubt but a cheep one, and don't overpopulate.
