7.3L HANDS DOWN!!!!!!! Do NOT get the 6.0L, unless it's an '06. Those engines have been nothing but MAJOR headaches to Ford truck owners and the TECHS who work on them!!!! If you are in the market for a truck, get the 2003 with the 7.3L, or if you need to buy something newer, GET THE 6.8L V10. Yes, you may pay a little more for fuel, but when you calculate the TOTAL yearly cost, believe me, it will cost you MUCH less!!! To start, it will cost you about $8,000 extra for the diesel, plus the extra cost for every oil change and filter replacement. When all is said and done believe me, you'll be further ahead with the gasoline model. As far as the 6.4L is concerned, NEVER buy a product that is released in it's first year. Hope this helps.

If you're not pulling something big, the 6.0 is plenty.

7.3 has more horspower and will use more fuel
6.0 good motor, you will use less fuel and close to the same horse power

Wait for the 6.4 if you are buying new.
