She went 2 the doctor and they did this brain scan and everything turned out fine. She wants to know if the menopause could me causing this. I have heard something about menopause causing headaches but stress does it too. it's probably a combination of the 2.

Menopause can cause all sorts of strange side effects because the body's hormone levels are changeing. she will have to have a pre/post menopausal test done by her doctor and he/she will be able to give her a homone supplament like prempro. Stress is also a big factor in headaches. She can take stuff like Excedrine Migrane but if it persists, call the doctor. She may need something to help with her stressors. Good luck I know its not easy....

Your mother may be having a low blood sugar episode manifesting in headache. Menopause and the hormonal changes that cause it may cause insulin to become overactive. If insulin overproduces it can cause too much sugar to be put into cells, leaving insufficient for the brain. The brain can react in many ways, but headache is one.

Stress can be harder to handle during menopause or perimenopause, and this could cause the headaches.

I know from my own experience with menopause it causes all kinds of aches, pains, and strong feelings.........and from what I am told no two women are the same! I wonder who the lucky ones are who don't suffer at all.
