Please explain why you would pick one or the other and spare me mindless answers like "neither".

the answer isn't mindless - but the question is. But - since you asked: I would rather a wolf fall into the water, be eaten by the alligator .. and then, he'd be too 'full' to enjoy me. How's that?

A gator will kill you, most likely you will drown in pain as the gator will grab you, pull you under then turn and turn till you stop fighting. It will then stash the part of you it doesn't swallow under a submerged tree or rock to eat you later when you break down and age a bit.
If wolves are starving and you are in their dining room they will hunt you. You will know they are coming from more than one direction. They will bite and tear, first one, then in a group effort to get you down on the ground. You would be eaten while you were still alive and witness to the chomping and slurping and swallowing a lot of stuff you really were using, but now it's all broken.
I choose drown in a surprise attack by a gator bigger than me.

I live near Yellowstone Park.
I have seen gators eating in other zoos.
Both are quite gory.
Gators twist their food apart and you would suffer longer.
Wolves usually complete the kill making it as fast as possible.
Both animals may kill and not eat it, just keep in around for later feedings.
I will take the wolf.

i pick wolves
1. I always thought i was going to be devoured by wolves anyway so...
2. alligators will flip around and drag you underwater to drown and i hate the fact that not only will i die i'll die underwater a drift somewhere crappy
