Ladies, would you ever date a guy that was only 2 inches taller than you... not shorter unless you wear heels... but I'm 5'3" he's 5'5".... ?

He's a great guy, and I don't consider myself shallow, but I've always dated really tall guys... 6' and taller... so this is really different for me... just thought I'd ask around and see what other people thought... every last one of my friends has already made a comment about his height.

May I answer this from the reverse side?
I am about average height for a man, 5' 11-1/2".
I have dated women a little taller than me and it never bothered me. As long as we had a good time together.
I hate to be mean here, but If you are so bothered by your "friends'" comments about his height, then maybe his height isn't the real problem here. If it bothers you that much, then do the guy a favor and break it off so that he can find someone that WON'T be bothered by his "lack of tallness", or by other people's comments about it.

I have dated guys that aren't that much taller than me. I'm 5'8", and it seems like most of the guys I date are usually around 5'10". It doesn't make any difference to me, unless I wear heels, then it's a little weird to be taller, but it's not a huge deal.
I just can't date guys that are shorter than me, because I don't want to feel like the Jolly Green Giant or anything. I do prefer guys who are at least 6'1", but I'm not that picky that I won't go out with a guy if he's not that tall.
Tell your friends to "bite it". If you really like this guy that's all that matters. Don't let them influence who you date.

Sure...there's nothing wrong with that. My hubby is only about 3 inches taller than me. I never really liked the thought of someone shorter than me, but that's not bad either...I know of quite a few people where the guy is shorter. It all depends on personal opinion I think.

I don't particularly consider myself shallow either, however, I have been accused of being a bit of a "height snob." My boyfriend is 6'2" and to be quite honest, I think that's the shortest I could ever go for. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference really.
Oh, and by the way, follow your heart and not what some "height snob" says. If you like him enough, I'm sure you'll be able to get past his height. Maybe. Or maybe not. Heck, I don't know!

Well, my guy is like 4 or 5 inches taller than me, but what does it matter? I'd still date him is he were shorter than me. If you really like him, his height doesn't matter.
