Most likely if you buy a laptop these days it will have wi-fi capability built in. You will need to buy a wireless router. I just bought a Netgear Super-G wireless router and my wireless connection anywhere in my house is EXCELLENT I love it.And the best part is I got it from Best Buy for $59.

Get a D-Link Air Plus Card. I use one and it works Great. You have to buy a modem...the catch, Its like 500$ because you have to buy the modem and the card...But I think it is well worth it.

Oops, Ok. Card - 150$
Modem - 500$ + Tax.

(Oh, and by the way, the cards come in diferent speeds, 128, 320, 540...and somthing elese. I have a 320 one, and yes, once again, if your going to get somthing for your computer that cost alot, just go with the best.)

You would need a wireless router to connect your internet into and a wireless internet card for the laptop.
