Divide that 40 lbs. by number of years to get number of lbs. per year. Then divide that number by 12, for months in year.

well, there are 52 mths in a yr. so multiply 52 and 73.6 to find out how many mths in a man's life. you get 3827.2. then divide 40 by 3827.2 to find out how many pds in a life. you get .0105 pds per mth for a man. You do the same thing for a woman, 52*79.2=4118.4. then 40/4118.4. you get .0097 pds per mth for a woman.

A man would shed (40)/(73.6*12)=0.0453 lb of deadskin in a month. and the quantity of dead skin shed by a woman in a month would be 0.0453X(73.6/79.2)=0.0421lb.
