i was in the same position a few years ago i got an a/c with the woolwich tho its a very basic current a/c with no overdraft and my card is only an electron happty huntin dude

royal bank of scotland my dear friend exactly the same predicament myself however after long days of searching R.B.S have another part called Gregory Pennington it is them who actually give you the account. It is a savings account also an account where you can set up direct debits etc,etc,etc. You can have your wages also paid into the account. I can even give you there number and just ask for jennifer then the rest is history as they say. Speak to her for fifteen minutes or so and upon completion I will guarantee you have a bank account with all the details account number sort code everything that I kid you not.

Any bank will have you BUT they will only give you a basic account i.e. cashpoint card only but then you could gain there trust if you showed you were managing your account ,you would not be able to have a credit card at first or an overdraft.

That is terrible.
Not to get a loan because of the colour of your skin.
Accuse them of racialism and threaten to take them to court.
Also check with the CAB.... Citizens Advice Bureau.

try 'spelling' your name slightly different (if poss )
I did and the same bank I'd fallen out with had me back and never knew.
