I need help. Can someone please tell me if there is a way to find out the password to someone's user account. My friend gave me a free laptop that he bought from someone, the only problem is he didn't get the password from the guy for the account and he could never get back in touch with the dude so he gave it to me and told me i could have it. Other than doing some big stuff like reformatting and stuff is there a way to access this administrators account or find out the password. BTW, the hint is "haha not!". I would really appreciate any help!!

what version of abode windows, if XP, is it abode or professional? Does it reveal a username on the login? attempt CTRL-ALT-DEL *two times* and it may teach an common login container, with username and password. If there's a username in there, attempt changing it to administrator and no password - or the admin password in case you placed it. once you assert you are able to no longer edit person money owed in secure mode - does that propose it won't enable you to incredibly substitute them, or in basic terms which you will no longer get entry to that section?

Did you see if he left a hint that you could read?

If not, make sure you can't find the dude.

If you can't find him, reinstall Windows buy buying the program.
(It'll cost about $60 ? but it's better than buying a laptop)

If your friend cannot contact the person from whom he bought the computer, to ascertain the password, I see no other way out other than formatting. Information below.
