My high school offers a program for business tech prep students that when junior year comes we would go to a company Pershing and learn about business related things over there then they interview us and hopefully earn an internship by senior year and start working senior year all the way till the start of college

.Three of my 5 children were. One for nursing, one for mechanical engineer and the other physical therapy. Also if you were selected these institutions or businesses would help contribute to your college education through work scholarships. Take advantage of it , they are usually very good and forthcoming. My son received $15,000 for a bach degree in engineering, my daughter the first 2 years of nursing school paid and another daughter $6500 for physical therapy.

I worked as an intern for a radio station. They never hired me back, although they thought I did a good job

Not that I can remember.
But it could have been so traumatic that I have blocked it from my memory - (from what I see on the news lately!)
