In the past people have claimed that I have an attention span as short as the average goldfish. I’m sure the exact same people who compared me to a goldfish would also suggest that my short attention span is the source of my current predicament. I can’t say I agree with these people considering the fact that I don’t find myself engrossed by a three-inch tall castle every ten seconds. I can focus on any assignment- Oh! I didn’t finish my math assignment. I wonder if the teacher will collect the assignment. I wonder if I should do my assignment now. No I’ll do it later.

I'd edit it a bit.
In the past, people have claimed I have the attention span of a goldfish. I'm sure those same people also would say that my attention span is the source of my current predicament. I disagree -- I don't find myself swimming around studying a three-inch tall castle every 10 seconds! I can focus on any assignment...oh! wait, I didn't finish my math...I wonder if the teacher will collect it...should I do it now...no...wait...yes, I'll do it later.
Hope this helps!

Dear Kate,

I love your paragraph!

I do not know the purpose of the assignment, but as the parent of two children with ADD, I really identify with it and I like the way you, as writer, let the reader in to discover how your mind works.

(I am not suggesting you have ADD, but your paragraph reminds me of my children and you do discuss attention span!)

You bring to light one of the misconceptions people often have about attention span--that there are people who have short attention spans and cannot focus. Often people with attention problems can focus beautifully on certain (read more interesting) things and not on others. Or we want to pay attention, but things pull our attention away--noises in the background, things we wonder about, worries that come to mind, etc.

Again, I don't know the purpose of your paragraph, but it was a joy to read.

No it is not confusing. I just have two corrections. the O in "Oh!" doesn't need to be capitalized. and try saying "oh no!" instead of just oh.

"three-inch" should be "three inch"

"No I'll do it later" should be "No, I'll do it later"
Good paragraph! hope i helped! :)
