There are many signs that you may have high cholesterol. By seeing if you have these risk factors you can become more aware of if you are likely to have high cholesterol. The only way to be certain if you do is by having your blood tested. It is recommended that everyone over 20 should have their cholesterol tested at least occasionally.

The truth is that there are no signs and symptoms that you have high cholesterol. The only way to know is to make a blood test. it's very important to know what numbers are good ,bad and acceptable and take decision.By example;


Normal chlesterol total:less than 200 mg/dl
Normal LDL cholestrol:less than 130 mg/dl
Normal HDL cholestrol:> 40 mg/dl for men and 45 mg/dl for women.


Other values:

Borderline chlesterol total:200 to 239 mg/dl
Borderline LDL cholestrol:130 to 139 mg/dl


High risk cholestrol total:>230 mg/dl
High risk LDL cholestrol:>139 mg/dl

well, the one sign i got that i had high cholesterol, i was in the CCU, the doctor said i had a hart attic, and i was going to be staying in there for a couple of days .....4 day in the CCU and allot of blood work ......also i had a slight stroke.......if you even think you might have high cholesterol, go get checked out by your doctor, don't wait for you body to tell you that something is wrong......

when i first had signs i was very light headed at times it felt strange -but my doctor checked mine it was 268-i take zocor-but heigh cholesterol runs in my family.
