There are many signs that you may have high cholesterol. By seeing if you have these risk factors you can become more aware of if you are likely to have high cholesterol. The only way to be certain if you do is by having your blood tested. It is recommended that everyone over 20 should have their cholesterol tested at least occasionally.
What are the signs that you may have high cholesterol? By looking at what most people with high cholesterol are like we can discover what goods signs of high cholesterol are. If your parent(s) have high cholesterol then you are more at risk then someone whose parents did not. Also, overweight people are more likely to have high cholesterol. Other things that put you at a greater risk for high cholesterol are if you do not exercise regularly or if you do drugs or drink alcohol.
All of these things are good signs you may have high cholesterol. It is possible that you have none of these risk factors and still have an elevated cholesterol level. In this case the only way to find out if you do is by getting tested. During a test your blood will be drawn, most likely from your arm. This blood will be sent to a lab where it can then be tested for levels of LDL and other high cholesterol factors. In a couple of days you will get your results. If you have high cholesterol you should talk to your doctor on how to reduce it and create a plan for treatment. The most certain way to find out is by being tested. The other factors are good indicators but may not hold true for everyone.
