Great questions without many good answers. Did you see the article last week about what a Muslim cleric said in Australia? Here's a snippet:
"Australia's most prominent Islamic cleric vowed Thursday to stand strong against widespread outrage over his description of women who don't wear head scarfs as "uncovered meat" who invite rape." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061026/ap_on_re_au_an/australia_muslims
Of course it's the same in many cultures, men victimize women, then blame their victims. Italian women have been blamed for their attacks on wearing tight jeans.
I have a better idea. Do not blame your lust on me. Instead, men should be required by both secular and religious law to wear bags over their heads, or at least blinders. That way the rest of us may be safe from their predations.

am sorry to disappoint u darlin but u r wrong with they have the highest population of wife beatings,america is the country which got the highest number of beating wifes and girlfriends
in the Quran it say it in the arabic language which u translated with they should beat them lightly...the word that u translated as beat have more than a meanin in arabic language,it could mean compare them to other wives,it could mean change thier idea about somethin,it could mean multiply them (get married to anthor woman while she is ur wife)it could mean beat them but am not surprised that u translated this word with beatin coz of all what u see in western countries...

Its not your place to judge other cultures. If the woman were truly unhappy they would rebel, think about it. They don't and not because they are stupid or because they are so down trodden that they can't. They don't want to. Keep your anger and your fight for people who actually want to fight
