Marriage is between a man and a woman for the purpose of procreation. We all know what happened to Sodom & Gommorrah.

I think they should scrap the whole "marriage" idea and let straight couples and gay couples get a civil union. The term "marriage" has a lot of religious connotations to it. If a couple wants to get married in a church, so be it. I'd rather be put into a legally recognized relationship by a judge than a pastor. I'd say extend the rights to gay people and straight people alike without having to have a religious ceremony attached to it.

And another thing...

I'm appalled at how many people are so disgusted by the idea. There are enough gay people in the country that everyone has to associate with at least one, whether they know it or not. I've been involved with the theater community where there are a lot of gays. I have 30 or so gay friends that I've worked with throughout the years. It saddens me that the general population is so quick to oppress these people and the people that surround them in their daily lives. Gay rights are the next thing to come since the civil rights movement and women's rights. I hope it comes quickly because our constitution says everyone is created equal.

EDIT: The fact that I have two thumbs down rendering this post mostly non-readable proves what I'm saying about people accepting the oppression of people they associate with every day. It's disgusting.

There is no marriage between same sex cpls... Marriage is defined as the union of one male and one female. I cant figure out what is world is coming to. What about nature, the bible and children? No wonder kids are so confused. Getting back to the basics and the family, Dad Mom and children and respect for the family is where its at.

I think they should be allowed to live together, but marriage... no. Marriage is, among other things, to have kids. What happens when a gay/lesbian couple wants to have kids? Should they be allowed to do that? What about the poor kid that grows up having two dads or two moms... it's not natural.

There is one major problem with it. A marriage is a commitment between a man and a woman to go through life together through thick and thin. By definaition marriage is for heterosexuals.

I think people should be free to do what they feel is right in thier hearts. I am in no place to cast judgement.
I admit I am a bit of a hypocryte, I see two women together and it makes me smile. two guys together bothers me a little, but it is merely personal preferance-do you prefer pants or shorts ?
Cotton or silk? Men or women?

Love is in incredible and beautiful thing no matter how you look at it. People need to stop judging others for what they believe and instead care more about what is in thier hearts.

Well that is a hard question to answer and views are very wide. For my instants, I say let them marry! Anybody should have the right to marry anything. Hell, just say that you are, just it wont be legal, but what is legal?! I mean look @ California and the immigrants. They still marry and they are not even legal! So again it's a hard question to answer. But if you want opinions, then I am all for it!

It's fine with me, with the divorce rate at 50% I don't think marriage is what it used to be. Who ever wants to try it should be able to.

If that is what they want let them, it doesn't hurt anyone. I just don't want to hear about it all the time. The media plays it up like its the story of the century. I'm not into public displays of affection no matter what your age, sex or orientation. Keep your sex life to yourself.

I know that in the bible GOD created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.
If you absolutely feel it necessary then you should read your bible and definitely pray about it.
