The issue today is the same as it has been throughout all history, whether man shall be allowed to govern himself or be ruled by a small elite." – Thomas Jefferson

Yes, perfect for the Bush administration. then they would be free to spy on, intimidate, threaten, arrest, detain, "disappear", and torture anyone, anywhere, anytime without that pesky "Constitution thing" or the Bill of Rights getting in the way. And without those "enemies of freedom" making a stink about it (they'll be busy getting waterboarded).

NO.

PROVE that giving up "some rights produces a better society." It hasn't yet! Our freedoms are protected by the framers of the Constitution for a particular reason, because they knew EACH ONE was of particularly important, because they had lived without them! So, don't pull that Bush sh*t and say we "have too many freedoms" like Bush said during his campaign. If anything, Bush is eroding our Freedoms on the False threat of terrorism.

Don't get me wrong, terrorism is a REAL THREAT, however, we HAVE NO NEED TO GIVE UP OUR FREEDOMS to remain safe!!!

Excellent quote.......however, obviously, I must disagree completely with the logic in your question.

Example: If dringing a small glass of wine before bed is healthful - would drinking a quart in the morning, another at noon and a third bottle at bedtime make me immortal?

That's like asking if we should stop eating ALL foods instead of the ones that harm us.

You can listen to my phone conversations and ask me to remove my shoes before I board a plane if it will keep the vermin of the world from harming us.
