What would be a good fundraiser or way for the art department of a small liberal arts college be to raise money w/out looking poor or cheap???

Have "Chocolate Night." Invite local restaurants to come to your location and give out samples of their best desserts.
Sell tickets for the party: serve the chocolate desserts, maybe coffee, tea, punch and alcohol (if your campus allows it). Make it a cash bar.
Ask local businesses to donate prizes for your cause. Those could be raffle prizes. Put together some gift baskets as well.
Try to get a "big" prize- a trip maybe, piece of jewelry.
Maybe the Art Faculty could donate some works?
To make it very special, invite the Music Dept to play- maybe there is a quartet that could play while the guests mingled?
There is a lot you could do with this. Chocolate will bring them in.
Invite the university community and the locals. This will be a nice affair. Chocolate is a favorite!
A local library in my county had an event like this. They raised $8,000 for the library's foundation.

how about each person making an art project and have a silent auction................. or set up a site and sell each item............. be sure to post signs that say "all proceeds go to the arts department" or the like................... some elementary schools do this with childrens art work to raise money for the arts department.

Try an art show/sale with works by the students and maybe the facutly.

well i think the best way is to sell candy everyone loves candy and its a cheep great way to earn it plus the kids have fun selling it

not being silly but if u have a nude male model someone is like painting.I mean the bodybuilder type.
