Surface tension is the force acting in the surface of a liquid. so gas is another state of matter thus it does not have surface tension. Liquids have to evaporate to overcome surface tension so it means gas is free of surface tnsion.♥

Surface tension is defined as the energy required to increase the surface area of an object. Surface tension in liquids is provided by Van der Waals forces and hydrogen bonding. These forces are short range, so they are significant only for molecules or atoms that are close together. This is the case for liquids (and solids) so these states of matter clearly have a surface tension. In a gas the molecules and atoms are farther apart, but nevertheless can have a surface tension. Consider for example a star. A star is composed of gas, yet has a roughly spherical shape and will respond elastically if deformed. In this case gravity rather than electrical forces are supplying the restoration force.

no, gas has no surface. only liquids have surface tension.
