Try a bios update from the motherboard manufacturer if you have access to another computer.

Turning off all the time means the cpu is over heating. True sighns of overheating CPU when the system gets too hot it will shut down all the time shortly after you turned on the computer.. Do you selfe a favor and get some thermal paste for the heat sink and make sure the heat sink is fastend down. Look around the computer for dirt dust and clean it out real well..

What do you mean that it turns on?
Does it do the Power On Self Test (POST)?
Or does the power light just come on?
Can you access the BIOS?
Does it emit a beep or a series of beeps?
Does the screen show the POST then go blank?
Or do you get no video at all?

Does it beep when it first starts up? If it does then you might have some type of bios problem or a corrupt file depends on the screen it stops at. If it does not beep you have a hardware problem. Check your cables, plugs, wires. But it could be many various things

There are many things it could be, but if you're right your motherboard, hard drive , and ram are good; I would suspect your power supply or even just a bad connection or cable.

Insufficient information.
Does the monitor come on?
Are there any "beeps" when it starts?
If the monitor comes on, is there any message?
Etc.
Available by E-mail for further information.

it may be the PSU or the bios or it could be the power cord that goes to the PSU.

my first instinct tells me that the bios battery went dead and the bios lost its memory
