My uncle has turned into quite the lawn enthusiast. He stopped mowing the first week in September, and let the grass get really shaggy (but it's growing slower in our zone 3 or 4 climate, so it didn't get hideous). Then he mowed it after the first frost -- I think so critters wouldn't hide in there. Grass needs to build up energy for the winter ahead, if you live in the cooler climates.

why would u want to. if it has froze it is done for the year anyway.
i don't think it will hurt the lawn but it sure might hurt the lawnmower.

The grass kind of shrinks down when its frozen, so your blades probably wouldnt cut any grass.....there are other fun things to do during winter like clearing sidewalks.

not really but it is recommended to let it grow a little longer during winter
