I'm so sorry that you are feeling sad, this will actually make you tired. If you are not able to solve the problems that are making you sad I suggest you drink some coffee, move around, eat a banana and try to get some fresh air. I hope things soon improve for you.

It's kind of hard to know what to recommend as we don't know what type of work you are doing - whether it requires a lot of attention, whether you are able to listen to music, sing, dance, pray, read?
Are you doing something like a nurse on night duty - sometimes doing things to help someone else, make them happier, actually makes us feel better.
But when you are off duty I hope you can get some sleep if you are tired.
HEY BOB - Why don't you ever choose a best answer but leave it for the voters? It makes people wonder whether you are actually interested in the answers.

Think about all the positives in your life currently.
Take a pen or pencil and doodle on paper with designs etc.
Think about a movie you might want to rent this weekend.
Got your tooth brush handy...go brush your teeth.
Think about all the candy in the US being given out free tonight.

You have my sympathies, it's tough being at work when the rest of your friends are sleeping or having fun, but you have us(!) the worldwide web of instant mates.
You also have the luxury of being able to use the internet at work so make use of it. Listen to some chilling music, catch up on e-mails to real friends, download a movie, look at some humorous sites etc, and, most of all, look forward to sleeping when other people are hard at work!

1/ Go to bed earlier the night before.
2/ Go out of your way to deal with any unhandled issues that are causing the feeling of sadness.
3/ Ensure you totally understand the purpose of what it is that you are doing.

I am not a morning person either. I have often wondered about these people who look great, well put together and are just smiling at 7:00am, 8:00am how? I wish I knew their secret.
