My ex and I were together for 14 yrs. Broke up twice (question of marriage not pushed by either), once because she cheated. Fast forward to February 2006. We have a son, 2 1/2 yrs. She cheated on me. Breaks up with me in the thrill of someone new. That doesn't work for her. She desparatly wants me back. Now she realizes what she has done to her family (she is no longer with the guy). I feel I cannot forgive her for her trespasses. I don't feel I can trust her to be faithful. I have custody of our son. She feels she is missing out. I want her to be more in our sons life. What should I do? I really do not want to return to this relationship.

Return to it, but expect her to cheat again.
Can't stand the thought of that then you're just going to have to incorporate her into the child's life and be amicable with her.

If you don't want to get back together, then don't. It won't do anyone any good if the feelings aren't there on both sides. She can still be a big part of your son's life, that's very important, but you need to be happy, for yourself and your sons sake.

allow her into your son's life but not your's
maybe one or two weekends a month she gets to spend time with your son but don't let her spend time in your home.

well just let her know that when it comes to your son that she is more then welcome to to be in his life, but when it comes to you that you moved on, so move on and find a good mom for your son. then maybe she will wake up and smell the coffee, and see that there is more to life then men(nothing personal).
