Somehow I never knew that Americans like nice things any more than others. If you'd like a meal now and then, if you would like to have a car of your own, if you would like to own anything, you have to have a certain amount of money.
This isn't an American desire so far as I see it. Europeans, Asiatics, Orientals all love luxuries. Luxuries mean money. If you don't have it, you don't have much of anything, no matter where you live.

Hmmm, captialism seems to be a foreign concept to you. Make goods and sell goods so that you can buy goods.
