Buy a couple a rolls of film or disposal cameras. Take candid shot of them. Have the film developed at a store that allows you to keep only the ones you want. Go to a dollar store buy frames. give them the framed pictures for Christmas.

Why don't you hold a sleepover and have each friend bring a picture and some memories, so that you can have fun and laugh about how you used to have fun? Then, everyone would have a good time and that would be the best present you could give. If there are people that you don't want to come to a sleepover shin dig, you could bake some cookies and tie them up in a pretty little bag. I hoped this helped.

a certificate for pizza or merchandise.. that way they won't interpret your gift as an insult!
If you gave them soap they might think that you think they stink
Socks a definate no no... they'd think your socking into them that they have bad taste of bad foot odor or something like that!
Also a recipe book might be could for some but not for everyone.. a cook would be insulted
receiving a recipe book.
You do have to be careful giving gifts! Prank gifts are usual safe because people can tell they are pranks.. fake doo doo, or fake bullet holes, fake property deed! Nearly everyone has a computer so a CD or DVD would be good too! You can try www.dollardaysplus.biz

How about finding a great cookie recipe and baking for them? Wrap a dozen or so (or 6 if you make them big) in clear cellophane and pretty ribbon. People would definitely enjoy them and remember the effort you made!

Probably the cheapest way you can go is to bake their gifts. Get some tins or some nice festive foil/saran wrap/etc and bake them an assortment of cookies or baked goods.

homemade truffles.. really yummy, and you can buy xmas tins or inexpensive dishes to put them in. They're fancy, delicious and a really nice personal gift. You could also personalize them by adding some of your friends' favourite flavours/liquers. I did this one year and they were a big hit!

If you can sew, make 21 (yes one for yourself too!) hipster g-strings. You get the nicest iron on pictures or slogans at fabric stores. So you can make them personal. Or buy plain ones and just iron on the slogans or pictures.
Otherwise you can make beaded jewelry.
